Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

I’ve decided to keep somewhat of a log.

A dream log, or just write about everyday things I see. I want to write them down so I don’t forget.

Entry #1: Dream

It was a cool night for the summer. At the local park, kids were having their own version of the Miami heat and Boston celtics game. I was parked right beside the game and about half way through I knew improbably wasn’t a good idea considering all of the basketballs and boys. I got in my car to move it. For some reason my brakes decided not to work and as I pulled out of the lot into the street I cut off someone who was seconds away from hitting me. Luckily enough, their brakes worked. Following the dangerous turn into the street, I took a sharp right into the parking lot next to the first one. M brakes worked now. We were all hanging out and I took off my sweater and placed my bag on the ground, putting my sweater on top of my bag. After a few minutes of hanging out, everyone ran out of the park. I picked up my things and was freaking out, and I asked a girl I used to go to school with what was going on. “were just going to chill in the parking lot of the bowling alley.” my best friend Ashley and I didn’t want to do that. A boy Jordin from my schools asks for a ride. I told him it wasn’t a problem. For some reason Jordin and I were sitting in the back and Ashley was in thepassasngers seat, leaving the drivers seat empty, but the car was still moving somehow. I climbed into the front seat and then went back to my original seat. And Ashley took the wheel. She pulled over and Jordin asked if there was a guys shirt he could borrow. I looked and around and told him no and apologized. I then took the drivers side again. We are driving towards the center when a fire truck rushes towards us and the window is down, I can smell a fire nearby. We head towards Jordin’s and more emergency vehicles fly past us. I pulled over like I’m supposed to and then for some reason we got out of the car and it was only Ashley and I. We looked back and there were huge flames coming from the Walgreens in the center of town but these flames weren’t normal. There was a thin line of flames going into the sky and all of a sudden an explosion. Black smoke everywhere, and we ran. The next thing I knowim walking through what appears to be a house turned into a makeshift hospital. There was a nurse that everyone called “Zero”, and I believe she was the one who started the fire. Accidentally of course. There was one little girl in a room with no injuries and we had to sit with her. They mentioned something about cancer cells in the smoke.

Then I woke up.
